When to use 3D force plates

Permanently installed 3D Force plates combined with motion-capture systems are typically used in research labs to record complex movement patterns.

For basic biomechanical research and sports, 3D force plates are used to measure ground reaction forces, torques, and center of pressure (COP) that occur when a person stands, steps, or jumps.

To improve athletes’ performance and avoid injuries, trainers and coaches work with force plates for recording the balance and stability of their athletes.

The system is connected directly via USB or via an A/D board connected through USB for those devices that are not digitally integrated. When using an A/D board, the force data is calculated from the analog signals of the force plate. Drivers for Kistler 5695A DAQ and the AMTI Gen5 and OPT-SC are integrated in QTM so that there is no need for an analog board.

Export .TSV

Export 3D/6DOF/force/analog data to tab separated value files, for analysis in for example Microsoft Excel.

MATLAB & LabVIEW export

Export 3D/6DOF/force/analog data to MATLAB and LabVIEW for further analysis.

Analog and Digital Integration
