Qualisys is pleased announce that we will host a two day swim analysis workshop, starting October 2, 2014. The workshop will be held at University of Porto, Portugal. The host of the meeting is Professor Joao Paulo Vilas-Boas director of the Porto Biomechanics Laboratory, LABIOMEP.
The Faculty of Sport has a long tradition of research within swim analysis. Since 2012 they use Qualisys optical motion capture technology for 3D water locomotion double media recordings using both underwater and land cameras recorded data. Read more.
Qualisys Sweden will be represented by Mats Kanarbik, Frida Bakkman and Professor Gunnar Westman, who has been a swim coach for 30 years on local and national level. From his engineering profession as a professor at Chalmers University of Technology his mission is bringing science closer to the swim coaches. Gunnar is a key person to build up a new Sport and Technology Center at the University. See Video.
The purpose of the workshop is to bring together persons from industry (Qualisys), University research and swim coaches to discuss technology and swim analysis. The goal is to bring science/biomechanics, and latest technology closer to the swim coaches by showing the latest technology and listen to the coaches aspects.
Thursday October 2, 11.00 – 17.00 Friday October 3, 09.00 – 15.00
The day will follow the format of a morning session of presentations for the whole group and the practical demonstrations/test following with discussions. The language is English.
