The department of Psychology at Tulane University strive to develop and maintain programs of excellence in research that contribute to our understanding of the social, developmental, evolutionary, and biological factors that underlie behaviour. The department contributes to interdisciplinary majors including Neuroscience, Early Childhood Education, Cognitive Studies, Women’s Studies, and African and African Diaspora Studies.
The cameras are used in research focusing on perception-action and cognitive development. Attention is paid to the development of tool use in children and how it might be related to the object manipulation skills of infants. Research also involves spatial cognition in children, focusing on how children code the location of objects and object features.
