Traditionally, this has been accomplished with potentiometer systems attached to a model or with bulky and expensive gyroscopes and accelerometers. With optical motion capture technology, models remain completely unaffected by heavy sensors, hence even very small and light models can be used. Qualisys offers an easy way to obtain accurate 3D and 6DOF position in real-time.
Marine installations pose high demands on the camera system due to high accuracy demands in volumes that may reach over 6 000 m2. Upon installing a Qualisys marine system, a special surveying equipment is used that guarantees a highly accurate positioning of cameras and reference markers.
